PPSU Overcomes Flooding on Jalan Raya TMII

Channels here can't accommodate water optimally and it causes flooding as high as 10-20 cm

As many as 15 members of PPSU have been dispatched to handle flooding on Jalan Raya TMII, Pinang Ranti, Makasar, East Jakarta, on Monday (11/1). It occurred due to connecting channel failure.

Using simple tools, they were seen cleaning up channels along Jalan TMII and regulating regulating traffic thus motorists did not get stuck when passing.

Residents Affected by Flood in Rambutan Urban Village Have Been Evacuated

"Channels here can't accommodate water optimally and it causes flooding as high as 10-20 cm. Moreover, the channel from Dukuh also enters the TMII channel via the crossing under the Jagorawi Toll Road," he explained.

Despite the flood often occurred in the rainy season, he explained, it receded quickly at least 30 minutes after the rain stopped.

"The TMII channel flows and empties into the Cipinang River," he concluded.
